New Partner Announcement
We are pleased to announce that Mark Thompson CTA ATT will become a member of the Rennie Welch partnership, with effect from 1st May 2010.
Mark joined Rennie Welch in July 2008 from a ‘Big 4’ Accountancy firm in Newcastle where he was manager in their Entrepreneurial and Private Clients tax team. He has also previously worked in tax practice in Berwick upon Tweed advising individuals and local businesses, including many in the agricultural sector, on a wide range of tax and accountancy issues.
Mark qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 2004, winning the Gilbert Burr prize which is awarded to the candidate achieving the highest marks in the tax advisory paper relating to owner managed businesses. He has also been a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians since 2001.
Many of our professional contacts will have worked with Mark previously in connection with mutual clients or will have met him at seminars and other events. Mark is available for consultation on all tax and related accountancy matters. His areas of specialism range from advising businesses on structuring and the reduction of tax liabilities, tax planning for the agricultural sector, to mitigating Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax liabilities for individuals, including the use of trusts and tax shelters.
The practice is committed to providing quality practical advice and personal assistance across the client base. Mark’s appointment to the partnership allows us to build on these values and expand the services available to clients and professional contacts.
