After getting off to a slightly shaky start on the first weekend the team all pulled together and encouraged each other through the various highs and lows, the significant ups and downs and all the other challenges that long distance walking throws at you. The trek was completed in six days over three separate weekends and we walked a total of 115.39 miles in 43 hours and 56 minutes.
We would like to express our gratitude to everyone who has sponsored us during this challenge. We would also like to thank those that have cheered us on along the way, provided us with cakes and traybake and for the words of encouragement.
Team Lukas has asked us to pass on the following message of thanks:
“Before that dreadful day back in 2017, Lukas was a physically fit young boy who learned to walk when he was 11 months old. He now lives with the very real prospect of never being able to do so again.
However thanks to all your efforts, you have given us hope. Hope that through the right input from the right people, and a lot of hard work, that one day (just maybe), he will take just one of those hundreds of thousands steps that you have all taken over the 115 miles.
We will be eternally grateful to you all whatever the outcome.
