Candidates will have practical experience in the preparation of accounts files for partner review, and excellent working knowledge of accounts production software. An ability and willingness to handle discussions, correspondence and meetings with clients as appropriate is crucial to this role.

Your main responsibilities will include:
- Preparing limited company, sole trader and partnership accounts for partner review
- Preparation of Corporation Tax Returns
- Preparation of Business tax computations
- Managing and complying with reporting requirements and filing.
You will have:
- ACCA/ICAS/AAT Qualified /part qualified, or by experience
- Experience in an accountancy firm
- Experience in professional accounts production software and procedures
- Ability to work autonomously
- Strong communication and administrative skills
£28,000+ depending on experience, generous pension scheme, life insurance, support for qualifications and continuous training, clear path for career progression

Trainee Cloud Bookkeeper
Rennie Welch is an established accountancy business based in the Scottish Borders and North Northumberland. We are looking to expand the team and are now looking to recruit a Trainee Cloud Bookkeeper who will be based in our Berwick office. This role is a fantastic opportunity for you to establish or progress your career in Accountancy and will give you the chance to expand your knowledge, experience and personal development in an inquisitive environment working on a diverse range of clients.
You will support the team (with training) in delivering bookkeeping & accountancy services to a diverse range of clients using cloud software such as Xero and Quickbooks.
Key responsibilities (full training and support will be provided)
- Assist in maintaining accurate financial records for multiple clients
- Process invoices, receipts and payments
- Reconcile bank transactions and credit card statements
- Organising and archiving financial documents in both digital and physical format
- Liaise with clients
- Use cloud accounting software e.g. Xero, Quickbooks
- Help prepare VAT returns
- Support the team with general administrative and bookkeeping/accountancy tasks
- Support with the preparation of management figures
Required Skills
- Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
- Strong literacy, communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes, software and applications
- Excellent computer skills, especially with Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of Xero or Quickbooks would be advantageous
Your salary will be based on experience and/or qualifications. Full training and mentoring will be given.
We are looking for the successful person to start as soon as possible.
Hours are Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm, based in our Berwick office.
