Gill attended St Andrews University, graduating with a degree in Management, Economics and Statistics. Following her time there, she moved to Edinburgh, joining the audit department of Chiene & Tait, a large independent firm of Accountants in Edinburgh and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1998. Once qualified, she specialised in corporate tax planning and VAT, and became a Chartered Tax Adviser in 2000.
In 2003 Gill moved from Edinburgh to Kelso and joined Rennie Welch in a general practice role. Gill became a partner in Rennie Welch in 2006.
Throughout her professional career, Gill has established a considerable breadth of experience and technical knowledge within a number of client sectors, including charities, construction, leisure industries and owner managed businesses.

We are looking for an experienced Audit Senior to join our expanding audit department to assist with managing a diverse and rewarding client portfolio. A qualified/semi-qualified accountant you will work along side the audit manager and partners in managing and delivering audits, and also benefit from ongoing support and development.
Many will be aware of the pending changes from 6 April. Broadly the Chancellor announced a 1.2% increase to 15% and a reduction in the salary threshold from £9,100 to £5,000. At the same time the employer Annual Allowance will also change.
