Magnus was educated at Kelso High School before attending University, where he graduated with an Honours Degree in Accountancy.
Having gained an interest in taxation over the course of his studies, Magnus joined Rennie Welch as a tax trainee in 2014, qualifying with both The Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) in 2016 and as a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) with The Chartered Institute of Taxation in 2019.
Since joining the firm, Magnus has been involved in advising on various aspects of tax and accountancy matters to a wide range of clients, with a particular interest in advising on succession planning and capital taxes to farming and agricultural businesses.
